James WilliamsOnly three weeks into this adventure and we have grumbles from the cutting room floor over the name.
The main accusation is that 'Death to mediocrity' has overtones of pretentiousness.
All well and good.
But it wasn't our intention.
Death to Mediocrity is not about slagging off the trendy to upsurp them, or to whinge about the poor events that suffocate every street corner. It's meant as a celebration of the great and good in this city.
We want to ignore the monotony of standard club nights and flashy bars to remind ourselves of the exciting and original ways that people spend their time.
We want all our articles to be brimming with ideas and enthusiasm. People are busy doing wonderful things that are worth hearing about here in Sheffield and beyond.
We want to make sure that their voices are heard.
There is much to shout about in this city.
